The Newlywed Game {Bloggy Style}

1. What advice would you give a friend who found out that he/she is getting married?
Mr. B:What kind of question is this? You don't just find out you're getting married, unless it's an arranged marriage. Which in that case tough shit.
Mrs. B: Ha.... Odd question to ask, or odd way to ask what it really means...

2. Do you have a pet name for your spouse? If so, What is it?
Mr. B: I call you babe.
Mrs. B: I call him hunny bunny sometimes.... Other times it's nasty, disgusting and all time favorite, from when we first met, Jerk-Face. (This stuck when he told me a week after we met that he was deploying in 2 weeks).

Mr. B: Not yet.
Mrs. B: I can't honestly think of one that catches all of our interests and lives....

6. Rate the very last kiss you had with your spouse. How was it on a scale of 1-10?
Mr. B: Man WTF are these questions? So cheesy... But I'll give it a 7.
Mrs. B: Morning kisses before coffee are not my thing.... 6-7.... He responded with: that's so bullshit...

7. What was the very first thing you noticed about your spouse when you first met?

After talking about it.... He remembered I got him some movies that he watched back at his place.

9. Is there anything you sacrificed when you married your spouse? If so, What?
Mr. B: I'd have a lot more guns that's for sure... I don't know, I'm still pretty much able to do what I want. Just no..... WTF is up with these questions. They put you on the spot. (My response, that's the point of this game).
Mrs. B: Room in our house.... That drove me crazy at first...

10. What would your spouse say is the funniest photo of you? Try & Describe the picture & post it below!
Mr. B: GOD I hate being put on the spot like this... I'd be horrible on a game show.... Hold up let me scroll through facebook real quick....
Mrs. B: While he does that.... I think the funniest picture of him is when he and our oldest were at the Aquarium and he was acting like he was going to throw him in with the alligator. The oldest didn't find this too funny and thought he really was going to do so.
Mr. B: That's a good one. With the blue frosting on our face. And not too embarrassing...

Mr. B: Alright next one
Mrs. B: That's it.
Mr B: What? Man screw this I'm going to go online and
start finding some surveys that are longer...

Sunday Social~ Back in the day....

Happy Sunday!!! Before we head out for the day I wanted to share hop on into the Sunday Social that has been around for awhile. I always see it up and have enjoyed reading my bloggy friends answers, just always forget to jump on board! Not this time though! High school memories......
Those were the good ol' days!

Sunday Social

1. Biggest Middle school fashion mistake:
Baggy pants, t-shirt and a leather jacket.... Yep I was that kind of tom-boy.... This carried on through high school on and off too....

2. Who were your best friends in high school? Pics?
My bestest friend who I've known since I was 2 went to a different school~ Jenna
From the same school, oh the trouble we caused..... Steph, Kat and Christen~

3. What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?
ROTC or Civil Air Patrol events. Working, swing dancing, beach, roaming the neighborhoods, swimming in the backyard, car shows, Disneyland, movies, mall walking/people watching/silly fashion shows. When I got a car my Junior Year..... I was rarely home, traveling to the beach, LA, SD, 29 stumps, mountains..... We had a blast!

4. Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that.
Yep, my oldest son's dad was my first high school boyfriend.... I broke his heart though... :( But we remained great friends, and he was my best guy friend throughout high school. Had a couple others that only lasted a couple months, one almost a year and the last one was Junior year that lasted until the end of Senior year.

5. Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets!
Not really. We could look at each other and know what was up, we did have a Girls ONLY notebook that we'd pass around a spill our thoughts into about anything and everything..... I still have that, it's in the attic :)

6. If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?
Ooooohhhhh....... There are SO many great times to choose from!!!!! I really cannot pick just one.... There were moments with the whole group, part of and just one of the gal pals that were all amazing times. From beach trips, to river trips, to desert driving, to skidding into a mountain on ice, to cruising LA and tumbling down grass hills, to flying in a WWII plane, to concerts and ball games, to dances and fairs...... Yeeaaaaaaa, there are definitely times I miss those days :)

The Newlywed Game

1. Who does the laundry in your home, you or your spouse? Any good stories?
Mr. B: We both do. My wife shrinks my expensive designer clothes
Mrs. B: Both. Gas Chamber clothes are all on him though and he pisses me off when he puts his sweaty PT clothes on the floor.

2. If your spouse had to eat at one restaurant for the rest of their lives, what would he or she pick?
Mr. B: Food.... This is like a loaded f'in question right here.... There is never one mainstay no matter what mood she's in that she'll eat.
Mrs. B: Chef's 105. (Where we went for our reception and anniversary).

3. Are you or your spouse better at cooking? Any good stories?
Mr. B: Oh I'm better at cooking.... Let's see what story do you want, the rice pilaf that tasted like poop because she left the spice pack out, or the welcome home cake that was a muffin shaped rock....
Mrs. B:...... He is.

4. Which one of you is more concerned about their "fashion"?
Mr. B: I would say she is for the most part. Me I'm good with a North face shirt, pair of Sevens pants, Patagonia, and my chucks.
Mrs. B: Depends on what's going on I guess.... I'd say he is, unless we're going to an event then I can never find anything decent to wear....

5. Ideally, if you don't have them already, when does your spouse want to have children?
Mr. B: N/A
Mrs. B: N/A {We have two awesome boys}

6. Who planned dates when you were dating? And what was one of your favorites?
Mr. B: I didn't know anywhere around here, so she mainly planned them. New York City for Thanksgiving.
Mrs. B: I did. My favorite was Jamestown over Easter, when I first met his family.

7. What's been the toughest part of being a newlywed?
Mr. B: Having a baby after 9 months of being married, deploying a month after getting married.
Mrs. B: Still learning how to live "together" and not independently.

8. Who is the best with the finances?
Mr. B: Her.
Mrs. B: Me.... I track every little penny....

9. Who is the strict one?
Mr. B: We share that responsibility.
Mrs. B: ...... I'd say I am.... He's lax on a lot of things.

10. What will you plan to do for your first anniversary? Or if you've already celebrated your first anniversary, what did you do?
Mr. B: Chef's 105 for dinner
Mrs. B: Chef's 105 AND was able to drink since I wasn't 2 weeks preggers!!!

BONUS QUESTION: Assuming you were expecting something a little special for Valentine's Day (as in y'all planned on doing something, giving something, etc), how did your spouse do? Share it! Again, PG people, please.
Mr. B: We had s*x, but I had to work for it, I just traveled 17 hours and she was complaining that it was 230 in the morning and had a rough day with the kids and was waiting up for me the entire time....
Mrs. B: SMH..... He did great, drove up 17 hours and walked up at almost 3am with champagne, a card, roses and a pandora bag (that had a charm with the infinity symbol on it).... But ya I was exhausted.... ;)

Mr. B: Next question.
Mrs. B: That's it. Only 10 questions.
Mr. B: Well damn, I was just getting into this and usually I don't like these question games...

***Throwback Thursday: Sophomore Year 99/00***

Sophomore Year was a blast! No longer in that awkward Freshman stage, new friends, late nights swing dancing and started my first job.... Scooping ice cream at Baskin Robbins. ;) Luckily we were only allowed 1 free scoop a shift... I could have easily gone through an entire barrel of mint chocolate chip back then...
This year was full of beach time with friends, tons of dances and school activities, JROTC events, my first real high school long term boyfriend, traveling to swing dance for the band Cool Daddy, and watching close friends graduate, join the military and go off to college. This is the school year that I miss the most....

Here are some pics that take me back and tunes from 1999/2000 that I enjoyed. :)

First week back at school and already lazy with Steph

August Blog Star: Hola I'm Jenni

Mrs. Monologues

Hey everyone! I love these blog hops and getting to meet new people and see everyone's grand adventures through my little computer screen. :) Right now many of our own adventures are on hold until baby boy (4 months old) gets a bit older. Our oldest starts 2nd grade this month and as of today is 1ft 2in shorter than me.... Pretty soon I'll be scolding him while standing on a ladder... Not sure how serious he will take me then, not that he does now much anyway... Here are a few blog posts about this new SAHM, spouse to a Marine Corps Officer, Internet addict, and lover of sweet wines: ME! :)

Blog Post #100!!! What Do I Want To Be When I Grow Up?

"Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
olds I know still don’t." -Baz Luhrmann Lyrics - Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)

My oldest son is constantly changing his mind as to what he wants to be when he's older. I've heard Marine, Ninja, Pilot, video gamer (ha!), Professional Basketball Player, Naval Officer in charge of a submarine, the list goes on and on. Last week the hubby and I went out to dinner (just the two of us) and the topic of college courses came up. We both start classes in Aug & Sept., he for his Masters, me for my Bachelors. I've been going to school to become a teacher or counselor.... This past school year, with my oldest in 1st Grade, I realized this is not the path I care to pursue anymore... It seemed like everyday he came home from school I was re-teaching him what he'd been taught in class for his homework... I couldn't imagine doing this everyday for 20+ children! My hat goes off to teachers worldwide, it takes a very calm, patient and understanding individual to hold such a position. I on the other hand, quickly realized I only have these attributes to a small degree.

When I was younger I toyed with the idea of being a vetrinarian. That thought was squashed when we had to put my first dog to sleep when I was 9 years old. I couldn't imagine being the person to perfom such an action to someone's loved one/childhood campanion.

When I was 13 I saw a boy on my street come home from his high school in an Air Force JROTC uniform. My interest spiked and I knew then that I wanted to join the Air Force. (My family has Navy and Army background). In high school I joined AFJROTC and Civil Air Patrol. I wanted to be an Air Force Pilot. (my old screen name was even IWANNABANAFPILOT... Yea I know I'm a nerd).... The summer before Senior year I was picked to attend a leadership course in Camp Pendleton. This was a gathering of dozens of students from dozens of school across California attending classes on Del Mar, meeting a Medal of Honor recipient, several higher ups of the base and Air Station (4 of us girls even received a challenge coin from the SgtMaj of the Air Station, this is something I still have and carried with me all throughout boot camp and returned to the base a year later and gave him one in return), an AmTrac ride, weapons viewing, base tours, and 5 am wake up calls for PT. By the end of the course I was hooked, I wanted to be a Marine. I had the opportunity to receive an Air Force scholarship and go to college and become an officer... I went in another direction.... My parents were pissed! (Looking back now, I see why, hindsight is 20/20). I signed up for the Delayed Entry Program late that summer (2001) and caught shit for it from my parents, teachers, and a few friends. They were voicing their concerns, not saying that I couldn't hack it, but that they did not like the idea of me joining the Marines, my boyfriend at the time even went as far as to say he was afraid something bad was going to happen to me.... Boy were they right! There are days I wish I'd listened to them and there are days I can "see" that through it all I now have two amazing little boys and a loving husband that would otherwise not exist if things didn't happen as they did.  My plans were to enlist, go to college and then put in a package to become an officer, a "Mustang". I joined, grated boot camp in the top 5, came home for leave and didn't know that within a couple weeks something horrible would happen to me tat would eventually be the end of my just beginning military career that I had worked towards for over 6 years.... I was medically discharged and was eager to keep moving forward and attempt to forget all that happened 3 months prior. (It still haunts me to this day and I just continue to put it as far deep in my memories as I can). I landed an office job a week after returning home but it just wasn't the same. It didn't fill that void I was left with, nothing could. 10 months later hundreds of people were laid off, I was one of them. At this point I was married to my oldest son's dad and landed a job from home searching for people who had money coming back to them from their foreclosed homes. I loved this job and worked from home for 1 1/2 years. After that it was various part-time jobs and college courses. All while being a single mom.

I moved to NC for someone (it didn't work out, juicy/fucked up story there and maybe if I'm drunk enough one night I might write about it). With the move I knew I wanted to work on base. Even with all that happened to me I knew the entire Marine Corps was not as fucked up as the command/Marines were at SOI/MCT. I was able to use my VA disability as additional points toward the GS hiring process. I was eventually hired in as a GS employee in 2008 and was one until 2 months ago... I know I want to work as a GS employee again, but I'm not sure in what aspect. As a Marine I was suppose to be an MP. (Yeah, I know "f'in" cops, lol) but that has always been an interest of mine; law, investigations, the mind set of the accused..... And then on the flip the switch and I also LOVE photography.... Never when I was growing up did I say I wanted to be a Stay at Home Mom.... Rather it was, I'm never getting married, never having kids and am going to travel the world while serving in the military... Hahaha, silly girl... Tell God your plans and listen to him laugh. However, my best friend Steph grew up saying she WANTED to be a SAHM. And boy did she knock that one out of the park! She has 3 beautiful children, a gorgeous well kept home and a hubby that connects so well with her. She cooks mouthwatering meals (I'm happy if we don't have takeout or hamburger helper more than 3 times a week), is active in the kids PTA, and has style and class to be envied! I swear I need to pick her and a few other BF's brains as to how they manage all this....

I know when I do go back to work I want to be doing something that A. Provides support to our Veterans or B. Provides support to active duty member and their families. Exactly what the career path/choice will be, I'm not sure.... Exactly what courses I need to take for said career, I'm even more unclear. The hubby has stated I need to pick up a Job Description Book and tab all the ones that strike my interest.... Ha Ha Ha! I'll take a picture of this when I do because I'm sure there will be numerous career ideas marked!

BIG THANKS to all my readers out there! 100 blog posts and still going! :)

We really don't have a lot of room to "stock pile" but I always have many cleaning supplies on hand. (A must have for any mommy)

Rocky Road without the Road.... ;) So, Chocolate with extra marshmallows!

By cleaning the house like crazy, going for a drive, or having a drink.

4. What would you do if you had an hour to yourself anywhere within a ten mile radius of your home...no kids, no hubby, just you?

Go down to the inlet and sit at my thinking spot and just relax.

5. When you were 16, what was your curfew in the summertime?

Usually 12pm or 1am. Depended on what time I got off of work.

And The Kreative Blogger Award Goes To.....

MEEEE!!! (Said in the Legally Blonde voice).  :)

A big shout out thanks to my gal over at Complete Jensanity for putting me up to this awesomeness! She is a new Marine Wifey who has a background story that I can relate with in so many ways. She has a pair of kids (yes twins) that have kept this woman on her toes, and has motivated her to continue to excel in all that she has done and will ever do! So I mentioned she's a wife to a MARINE! And we all know what Marine's are right, HOTT! I know mine is, and I know her's is too from a post she made last month..... Don't come after me girl I'm just giving you a compliment, YOU DONE GOOD! :)) (Hopefully the grammar there doesn't sound like nails on a chalkboard for this amazing Junior High School teacher!) :)

Rules were to acknowledge who graciously gave this award to me, Mrs. Jensanity as mentioned so sweetly above, answer the seven questions below and give 10 random-ass facts.... It's that moment when someone asks you about yourself and suddenly you don't know who the hell you are..... :) READY...... GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question and Answers:

What is my favorite song?
What a horrible question to ask…. And I hate it when it is presented. Out of the thousands of millions of songs out there I have to pick one?!?! Those that know me well know I have weeks (possibly a month) worth of stored music. Those that know me in person have seen my music collection…. Sigh…. I am and will always be a Third Eye Blind fan (no matter their political views)…. I’ll have to stick with Motorcycle Drive By for today’s mood. (because we all know music is dependent on what mood we're in).

What is my favorite dessert?
Baskin Robbins Chocolate Chip…. It is truly laced with the best drug in the world (that is my excuse for having to have it so much, especially when I was pregnant). It doesn’t help that I worked there when I was in HS either…

What do you do when you are upset?
Like Mrs. Jensanity I clean like a MoFo! My husband knows to stand clear when the kitchen and bathrooms suddenly smell of Lysol and bleach….. Funny thing is I had recently found out that my aunt on my dad’s side does the same thing!

Favorite pet?
I don’t think a person ever gets over their childhood pet…. I had a dog that I was raised with from birth until 9 or 10. He was bitten by another dog in the leg and a tumor formed…. He had to be put down. There’s a newspaper clipping of me and him playing tug-o-war that I keep on my fridge. His name was Sabre, half bulldog (mom) half St. Bernard (dad) and he was my big brother who I’ve been told could out drink any man in the bars! :)

White or Whole Wheat?
I’m a whole wheat kind of girl. (With the push from my dad and now husband).

What is your biggest fear?
My fear for me is drowning. Fear for my children is something terrible happening to them in any manner. I have woken up from dreams in tears and full of sweat over them being hurt or taken. Of course they are peacefully sleeping tucked away in their beds but it doesn’t make the dream feel any less unreal.

What is your attitude mostly?
I am quoting Jensanity here:  “Most would say pessimist.  I say realist based on the events of my life.” EXACTLY!!! My Husband tries so hard to have me be more optimistic….. And I love him for that, but in all honesty he helps level me out with my negativity. What can I say? I’ve overcome some great hurdles and then there are others that have steel enforced, mile high walls surrounding them.

TEN LITTLE KNOWN FACTS

1. I’m always thinking something terrible is going to happen…. Don’t ask me why but I can look at an item or situation and see how it can play out into the worst case scenario…. Action/Horror movies tend to be less intense for me because of this.

2. I can wake at the slightest sound or movement of our children, but when an earthquake occurs or high winds I can sleep right through it as though everything were peachy keen.

3. I have a foul mouth and a temper. I try to clean it up around the kiddos, FB and here but get me chatting with my buddies or even my hubby and you might want to plug your ears if you don’t want to hear it.

4. My past haunts me. There is no way to get rid of it, and it doesn’t come around daily as it use to, but the times that it does requires rum, some tunes off my special playlist and the hubby to curl up to after. Other days it simply requires a target, gun and full magazine/chamber. I have a deadly aim.

5. I am a jealous person…. Period. (It does help that my husband is too).

6. I am capable of eating and entire large pizza on my own. I prefer the thin crust buffalo chicken from Dominos… (Another place I worked at when I was younger) lol

7. I grew up living in Sammy Hagar’s old house in Fontana CA. I have seen him in concert once, a few days before leaving for boot camp.

8. I grew up listening to Rock & Roll and Country (alternative, rap, hip/hop and everything else came during high school), going to the beach and river every summer, hitting up the mountains to ski and snowboard during the winter, playing out doors til the sun went down, making mud holes in the backyard for an obstacle course, riding dirt bikes and playing baseball.

9. I have traveled to many places in the past 4 years that I have always wanted to go to but never had the chance while living on the west coast. There are so many more places on the east coast and other countries that I hope to see one day. (View my bucketlist blog here).

10. I own a 1967 Chevelle…. She is a pain in my fucking ass, but I love her and want to make her look pretty. I am hoping she will be done by the time our oldest graduates from high school. 10 years is a good goal for a car to be completely restored right???

Well now the time has come to pick out a few of my fav blogs on here to present them with this fun award. Here we go:

This chick has seen some crazy days being newly stationed in HI with her Marine hubby. But she manages to put a pretty smile on her face, travel the land and take some great pictures, put up with hotel living out of a suitcase with their two dogs until their base housing is able to be moved into, and lost her car due to a sleeping driver!!! I live vicariously through this lady and all her Hawaiian adventures!

Here's a chick I found via a blog hop/blog star that is living the life with her family in Baharain.... Yes another place I am jealous of not being. She's a mommy to two gorgeous kids with another on the way, has a laid back sweet and loving attitude. Avid blogger, pinner, song writer, shopper and has begun to make some yummy meals for her beautiful Air Force family!  So much to read and enjoy here!

This page is written by another Marine Wife who has a wide variety of experience that has been my go-to page for finding new ideas for around the home and activities for the kiddos.

This blog has great recipes, WINE, and everyday life happenings of a Marine Wife and her family. Love it all! <3

There are so many more that I LOVE but baby needs to be changed. :) Such is the life of a mommy! You can also click on my profile and see all the blogs I follow and enjoy! <3
